Dear Colin:

It has been well over a year since our logs were delivered and set in May 2006. We are still as enamored with our home as we were when it was first erected!

Our builder, Carl Anderson of Skillcraft Construction, specializes in log home and did most of the finish work himself with just his nephew and a part-time framer to help. We sub'd out the electrical, plumbing, & HVAC but Skillcraft Construction did everything from helping setup the logs to laying tile & rock siding. As a result, we did not move into our new home until late April 2007. . . . . . .

The logs have checked some as expected, but we have not had as much shrinkage as we thought. the corners are especially nice and tight and we have not seen any gaps in the wall logs. Nice professional scribing! Looking up at the ridge beam in the living room, 27 feet up, it is hard to believe it was all set in just a few days with just a few people (and a crane, of course!). The massive diameter of those structural logs - as well as the generous 12 - 16" cedar wall logs - is truly awesome to live with.
