Main Floor joists are placed and bridged and now ready for plywood .

bridging joists of main flooor

Glue is spread on every joist prior to attaching the subfloor. Failure to glue subfloor to the joists, frequently results in a squeeky floor, especially as the house ages.

Joists glued for non squeek floor.

Sub Floor is now placed over joists and typically srewed or screw nailed into place.

SubFloor Preparation

Oops, a little blood, sweat and tears is par for the course. Bandaids and a helping hand are always nice to have around.

Cuts and Sratches along the way.

With the main floor base now in place, the main floor logs arrive and their placing begins.

Upper Floor begins

Holes are drilled for electrical services and tie down rods.

Main floor structure now permits upstairs logs to take shape. The upstairs deck soffit and angular log walls show off the beauty of a very functional log deck off an upstairs bedroom, den or office.
